During this reconstruction of the St. Andrew's descent it is also planned to plant trees and change street lights (they will be of an old style and of different colors - red, blue and green), benches and signs on buildings. Facades of the houses will be restored as well. They plan to complete the landscaping, maintenance of buildings and reconstruction of engineering networks before Euro 2012, by the Kyiv Day, 25 May 2012.
Reconstruction of Andryivskiy Uzviz will cost approx 50 million hryvnia and will give the St. Andrew's descent a European look. Car traffic will be banned. As planned, Andryivskiy Uzviz will become a traditional place for newlyweds, who will be entertained by street theaters with mimes and puppets. After EURO 2012 all yards will be beautified and all slopes will be fixed. The elevator to the Uzdyhalnytsya Mountain near to the Richard’s Castle will be built.
Meanwhile Kyiv City Administration is deciding what to do with the artists - to move them to Peizashna Alley and ban sales on Andryivskiy Uzviz, or to allow the sellers to set just small stands, without driving stakes into the pavement.
