Such wishes were expressed by Kyivans during the public discussion of the Draft of Kyiv Development Strategy until 2025. The Strategy envisages the creation of decent and affordable infrastructure for ecological transport such as bicycles and electric vehicles.

"For example, there is an idea of building bicycle parking lots near metro stations, so that people can get to their homes by bicycles - the solution of the so-called "last mile" problem. The left bank of Kyiv has been chosen as a pilot area to arrange bicycle paths, but bicycle parking lots will also be built downtown Kyiv and near subway stations of the most populated city districts - a total of 50 parking sites and 250 bicycle parking spots," - said the Deputy Head of the Kyiv City Administration Ruslan Kramarenko.

He also added that in order to motivate Kyivans to change cars for the ecological transport, it is proposed to build intercept car parking lots near transportation hubs outside the Kyiv center.
